The Selous game reserve is the size of Switzerland and four times the size of Serengeti national park. A large area of the reserve is drained by the Rufiji River. There are over 2,000 species of plants, over 430 species of birds, and 60 species of mammals, plenty of wildlife including Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffalos, Hippos, and Crocodiles. In 1982 it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to the diversity of its wildlife and undisturbed nature.

Itinerary
Enjoy 3 full days and 2 nights Selous Game Reserve safari
Day 1 – Arrival in Selous & Boat Safari
Depart from Zanzibar airport with an afternoon flight to Selous at 14:00, upon your arrival at Mtemere airstrip; you will be met by our driver for your transfer to the lodge for check-in and rest for a little. In the afternoon you will depart for an adventurous and romantic sunset boat safari along the great river Rufiji, with the chance of spotting hippo, crocodile, and a variety of birds as you enjoy the spectacular sunset. You will later return for dinner and overnight at African Safari Camp.
Day 2 – Full day Selous Game Reserve Safari
After early breakfast depart for full day game drive in the Selous Game Reserve exploring the game in the surrounding areas. Animals including elephants, giraffes, lions, buffalo, zebra, and even the rare African wild dog are common. Picnic lunch in the mid-day, before the end of the day, return to the camp for dinner and overnight at African Safari Camp.
Day 3 – Village tour and Departure
After early breakfast, a morning village safari then transfer to Mtemere airstrip for your departure flight at 10:15, arrival 11:50 at Zanzibar. End of service
